Inspired by the much-loved local dessert, Didsbury Gin’s Manchester Tart gin is a blend of raspberry jam and vanilla flavours with subtle hints of coconut.

The crisp and zesty gin sold out in just seven days when it first launched in 2019.

Now, it’s back – and for a good cause.

Launching today, £5 from every sale of the Manchester Tart gin will go to EMERGE 3Rs to help feed children and their families in the Greater Manchester area.

EMERGE 3Rs redistributes in-date food to front line charities, community centres, schools and humanitarian initiatives across the city region.

£5 will provide up to 20 meals to charities supporting those most in need in Greater Manchester.

This is not the first time Didsbury Gin has been involved in supporting the local community.

During the first lockdown, the brand sprang into action, producing over two million bottles of hand sanitiser in just seven days for the NHS, police and care homes.

The brand also donated 35,000 items of PPE to Manchester Social Care.

“For us, bringing back Manchester Tart was a no brainer, it was such a popular flavour when we originally released it back in 2019,” says Liam Manton, co-founder of Didsbury Gin.

“To return it with a purpose, especially that which links to the heritage of the brand, is even more special.

“’Inspired by what Marcus Rashford has achieved recently and having grown up on a council estate in inner city Manchester hearing the news that an estimated two in five children living below the poverty line are not entitled to free school meals made us sit up and listen.

“We have always been very passionate about charity work, especially that which focuses on the Greater Manchester area.

“Marcus Rashford’s campaign has inspired us all and combining two of the UK’s favourite things – gin and food – to help provide a solution just makes good sense.

“We are really proud to be working with EMERGE 3Rs to help feed children and their families in the region.

“Together we believe we can make a real difference in the community and there’s no reason we can’t feed 100,000 families in the region.”

To buy a bottle of Manchester Tart Didsbury Gin, priced at £34.95, and in turn donate £5 to EMERGE 3Rs, go to DidsburyGin.com.
