Crafted with the exquisite Glengoyne 10-Year-Old whisky, this cocktail captures the essence of Manchester, its rich history, and its enduring spirit.

This delectable concoction, crafted in honour of the upcoming I Love Manchester Awards, is making its grand entrance at some of the coolest spots in town.

Britons Protection, Atlas Bar, and The Liquor Store are all in on the action, ensuring that Manchester’s vibrant spirit is poured into every glass.

Swing by the Hilton Manchester Deansgate’s Podium Restaurant Bar for a taste of luxury.

Steak enthusiasts, rejoice! Hawksmoor is in the mix, offering a perfect pairing of their succulent steaks with the smooth notes of Glengoyne 10-Year-Old.

And for those who appreciate the classics, Sam’s Chop House is adding a touch of Manchester finesse to this exquisite cocktail.

How to make a Honeybee

So you can’t get out to these places to sip on a Honeybee?

Not to worry, here’s how you can whip one up at home.

Here’s how you can savour this unique concoction:

Ingredients:

50ml Glengoyne 10-Year-Old
20ml Lemon Juice
10ml Honey Syrup (3 Parts Honey, 1 Part Hot Water)
Ginger Ale

Method:

Shake the ingredients with care and precision.
Pour the mixture into a rocks glass, adding ice to your liking.
Top it off with a generous splash of ginger ale.

Glengoyne’s Commitment to the Environment

Beyond crafting exceptional cocktails, Glengoyne Distillery is dedicated to sustainability and environmental preservation.

They were one of the pioneers in adopting a wetlands facility to manage 100% of their liquid waste.

This innovative approach sees the liquid gently filtering through a series of 12 pools adorned with reed beds.

This not only slows the flow but also removes anything that could harm the delicate balance of the local stream.

From the stream, the water winds its way to the majestic Loch Lomond, leaving less waste and consuming less energy.

The result?

More wildlife and a healthier ecosystem.

Additionally, the solid waste generated during the distillation process is harvested to provide enough energy to power 354 homes annually.

The distillery also harnesses the power of the wind, sourcing 100% of its electricity from turbines.

The introduction of wetlands has brought an explosion of biodiversity to the Glengoyne Distillery, with over 14,500 plants of 20 varieties now calling it home.

Local wildlife thrives, and two bee hives house 80,000 bees, contributing to a healthier and more varied plant and animal life while aiding the honeybee population recovery.
