A new destination for coffee lovers is set to land in the Northern Quarter very soon.
Another coffee shop, we hear you ask? Whilst we’ll concur that the area is hardly short of coffee spots as it is, newcomer Seed & Cherry does sound pretty special.
Promising to have up to five types of beans on offer at any one time, the new artisanal coffee shop on Church Street will be offering a range of carefully sourced beans from across the globe.
Inside, customers will be able to explore multiple types of beans and a variety of flavour profiles to find the perfect brew for them, with speciality grade beans being flown in from destinations including Colombia, Rwanda, Brazil and Kenya.
All ethically grown and processed, you will be able to discover the stories behind each coffee bean: tracking their journey from seed to cup through the planting, harvesting, roasting and rigorous quality control process.
Interiors will pay homage to the natural process of coffee making with raw materials like hessian and palette stained woods, and Seed & Cherry also plans to donate part of the proceeds from its coffee sales to support projects in local communities where the beans are cultivated.
Not just for coffee connoisseurs, the concept also hopes to introduce and engage us all on the ways that different beans create different flavour profiles.
“Generally people have their ‘go-to’ drink in a bar and the learning the heritage and nuances of alcohol is becoming increasingly popular,” says Faizan Zaheer, co-founder of Seed & Cherry.
“Coffee beans are similar in that they all have their own flavour profiles, there is a bean for everyone’s preference, and we want to help bring this to the forefront. Customers will be able to learn, try and select their own coffee before having it crafted into their perfect drink.”
Some of the coffee beans available will include Colombia Las Brisas (a medium, syrupy bean tasting of red apple, brown sugar, orange and caramel), Rwanda Twumba (a juicy, citric profile with a caramel texture and notes of dark chocolate), and Brazil Fazenda Rainha da Paz (a heavy, rounded, creamy coffee with flavours predominantly of cacao & stonefruit with mild nutty notes).
And on the food front, there’ll be a range of fresh ‘tapas-style’ dishes on offer to spanning breakfast, lunch and those hungry spots in between.
Health-focused and vegan options will be available, with breakfast dishes set to include super berry acai bowls, brioche French toast, full English breakfast skewers and classic vegan pancakes.
And for lunches and light bites, you can expect dishes like beetroot and feta toasted sourdough, halloumi skewers, truffle fries and a variety of delicious, fresh salads.
Seed & Cherry is set to open on Church Street on 5th August, with a generous 50% off food soft launch running until Friday 9th.
