The rainbow has become a powerful symbol of LGBT+ pride – and the colours can be seen all around the city’s shops and businesses as we prepare to celebrate Manchester Pride this bank holiday weekend.
And if you’re hoping to bring a bit of that rainbow dazzle to your own appearance ready for this weekend’s events then we’ve found the perfect salon to help you.
For over at House of Evelyn on Spring Gardens the beauty team have come up with some pretty damn impressive rainbow manicures and make-up looks to bring a colourful new spin to your look.
Available to men and women, the House of Evelyn Pride specials will also be doing their bit to help the Manchester Pride charity, which supports LGBT+ causes across the region.
For make-up options, forget simply adding a glittery rainbow on the face, for the beauty experts at the salon have created a rather dazzling eye look that really makes you stand out from the crowds.
Using all of the rainbow colours, they are merged to create an impressive kaleidoscope effect across each eye. The Pride make-up look is completed with a full face using House of Evelyn’s own range of beauty products, with shimmering base, cheek contouring and a nude lip (so as not to distract from those eyes!).
Been testing out rainbow makeup and nails at @hseofevelyn for @ILoveMCR feature ahead of @manchesterpride and I don’t ever want to wash it off now!! Roll on Friday… 🌈 pic.twitter.com/BsEnWskSeq

The full look costs £33, with £3 from each Pride make-up going to the Manchester Pride charity. There is also the option to add fake eyelashes to the look for an extra £5.
The salon’s beauty technicians have come up with two different rainbow nail art manicures, which cost £30, with £3 from each donated to Manchester Pride.
We tested out the pretty rainbow dots nail art, which brings the dazzling array of rainbow colours red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet, to your fingertips.
As the dots are all hand-painted on with the gel varnish, allow for a little longer than a usual gel manicure, at just over an hour.
There’s also the option of a full rainbow flag nail art manicure – with the stripes of the rainbow painted on to each nail.
All this inside the super-luxe setting of House of Evelyn, the gold-festooned beauty salon that has become a hotspot for the city’s celeb crowd and stylistas.
