Christmas Parade Trafford Centre

Get ready for a magical and festive family day out as the intu Trafford Centre has revealed its Christmas Toy Parade will be back in November.

Children will get to see their favourite characters, such as Peppa Pig, PJ Masks, PAW Patrol, The Clangers and many more – including Father Christmas himself during the festive extravaganza and parade on Saturday 16th November.

The Once Upon A Christmas extravaganza promises festive music and dazzling dancing from toy soldiers, nutcracker ballerinas and gingerbread men, culminating in a feel-good singalong for the whole family to enjoy.

The parades will take place at 11.30am and 2.30pm around The Orient, with a memorable cast of larger than life toy and cartoon favourites.

Characters for 2019 will include Peppa Pig, PAW Patrol’s Chase and Marshall, Catboy, Owlette and Gekko from superhero team PJ MasksTop Wing’s top cadets Rod and Penny as well as Dennis the Menace and his trusty sidekick Gnasher, out to cause Christmas chaos.

There will also be Virgil from the Thunderbirds, cheerful bunny Freya Chocolate from Sylvanian Families, The Grinch, who will be on his best behaviour and hopefully won’t try to stop the Christmas fun.

A cast of gingerbread men, candy cane girls, toy soldiers, nutcracker ballerinas and princes and princesses will also be led out on the parade by Father Christmas in his trademark red coat.

This year, to celebrate the 50th birthday of The Clangers which is also on 16th November, one lucky child celebrating their birthday on this day will be invited to meet The Clangers and other characters backstage, as well as enjoying a VIP viewing of the parade.

Alison Niven, centre director at intu Trafford Centre, said: “Our Magical Christmas Parade is always a wonderful day out for families looking to get in the festive spirit and make special memories.

“This year’s free event promises an extraordinary show featuring a line-up of much-loved characters, which is sure to put a big smile on everyone’s face – even Scrooges!

“As well as enjoying one of the parades, families can experience the ultimate Christmas day out with a visit to our Peter Rabbit Christmas Grotto, a trip to the festive Alpine Village and even a spin on the Big Wheel.”

Families are advised to arrive early to secure a good spot. A map of the parade will be posted on the intu Trafford Centre Facebook page prior to the event, where you can also find details of how to enter the meet The Clangers competition.
