Winners of the 2014 Observer best ethical restaurant and a Sustainable Restaurant Association award winner, independent healthy fast food restaurant Friska is bringing its ‘feel good’ ethos to St. Peter’s Square.

The new St. Peter’s Square restaurant is the eleventh opening for the brand and its second in Manchester after the concession site in The Bright Building in Manchester Science Park which opened last September.

Launched in 2009 by Griff Holland and Ed Brown in Bristol, Friska an award-winning, ethically-minded venue which prides itself on food made from fresh, quality, and responsibly sourced ingredients.

Breakfast offerings include toasties with bacon or peanut butter and jam, muffins with salmon or sausages and eggs, and breakfast boxes and pots. Vegetarian and vegan dishes include a veggie breakfast box, a kale, avocado and tomato pot, and an overnight oats raspberry and apple pot.

At lunch, there are hot pots with Lebanese meatballs, chicken and chorizo gumbo or butternut and blacken dopiaza, as well as bao buns stuffed with hoisin pulled pork, sriracha chicken or sweet potato. There are also pho noodles, burritos and wraps, and two daily-changing soups, one of which is vegetarian.

Cold lunch options include a range of healthy salad boxes, sushi boxes, sandwiches and wraps, or a selection of tempting cakes and pastries available all day alongside a range of teas and coffees, the latter roasted by Clifton Coffee.

To celebrate its new opening, the St. Peter’s Square restaurant will be giving away 100 free lunches on Wednesday 14th March from 11.30am and 100 free breakfasts on Friday 16th March from 8am.
