Manchester Pride

Everything you need to know about Manchester Pride, the charity and colourful festival of events plus all the activity across the city celebrating progress and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

What is Manchester Pride?

Manchester Pride is part of a global Pride movement celebrating LGTBQ+ equality and challenging discrimination. Whether you’re attending Pride to protest, party, or both, the colourful events make a £27.5 million impact and contribution to the economy of the city of Manchester and creates opportunities for LGBTQ+ people.

Show your Pride

The first thing you need to know about Manchester Pride is that it’s a charity organisation. Manchester Pride campaigns for the advancement of LGBTQ+ equality; it celebrates LGBTQ+ life and creates opportunities that engage LGBTQ+ people so that they can thrive.

As one of the leading LGBTQ+ charities in the UK, its work aims to challenge discrimination in relation to homophobia, biphobia and transphobia and through its grant-giving, it supports, enriches and empowers LGBTQ+ community groups, events and causes in Greater Manchester.

The organisation fundraises by staging a number of events throughout the year, including the award-winning Manchester Pride Festival, The Manchester Conference and the year-round programme of culture, Superbia. Since 2003, Manchester Pride has raised and distributed over £1.6million.

Manchester Pride Festival 2024

Manchester Pride Festival

Manchester Pride Festival, which brings thousands of people onto the streets of Manchester each year, has revealed its huge programme of events and activities with an iconic theme for 2024 as the Manchester Bee takes pride of place.

With pre-sale selling out in record time this year, it’s clear everyone is excited for Manchester Pride 2024 events.

And for good reason, to pay homage to the legacy of support found within the city, Manchester Pride Festival is back with a buzz as the iconic worker bee takes centre stage in the theme for 2024 – ‘Buzzin’ to be Queer – A Hive of Progress.’

The festival itself will kick off on Friday, 23 August 2024 with celebrations rounding off on Monday, 26 August 2024, including the annual parade through the streets of Manchester, a powerful march symbolising the enduring significance of unity, resilience, and the ongoing fight for equality.

To ensure the Manchester Pride Festival is accessible and inclusive, in response to the cost of living crisis, more Low Income Tickets have been made available this year with options announced soon. Family tickets are also available and priced at £54 for Saturday and £54 for Sunday. These tickets give access to a family of up to four people.

As part of the accessibility scheme, Manchester Pride offers one free personal assistant per ticket holder. Details can be found on the Accessibility section of the Manchester Pride website.

Every year the festival line up offers a wide range of activities for the LGBTQ+ community to join together and celebrate as well as providing opportunities to advocate for LGBTQ+ equality, engage families and young people, and celebrate queer arts and culture. These include:
