If you’ve ever wanted to gain experience on a working TV set but considered it out of reach, then think again, because now there’s a chance to join the HETV Remote Trainee Programme and become a part of the making of Ralph and Katie, an all-new drama series.
The series follows the lives of the characters of Ralph and Katie, played by Leon Harrop and Sarah Gordy, who we first met in BBC One’s hit series The A Word.
This opportunity is specifically for deaf, disabled, autistic and neurodivergent applicants who are at an early stage in their career.
ITV Studios and BBC Drama are teaming up with TripleC DANC to offer behind the scenes access for those interested in how a high-end TV production is made.
DANC will facilitate access and support participants throughout the process.
Who can apply?
The programme is for people at an early stage in their career, and you must be 18+.
You may have a few TV/film production credits. Or you might have transferable skills gained in other sectors.
This might include theatre and the arts, but equally it might involve relevant skills that you have gained whilst working or volunteering elsewhere.
The programme will take place remotely, with participants being given confidential access to key documents which will stretch from pre-production to the final edit of the first episode.
Participants will also have access to meetings (fortnightly via Zoom) with various heads of departments as they discuss scripts, location scouting, scheduling, budgeting, set design, and wardrobe.
Participants should not expect to be assigned any tasks; this is simply an exciting front row seat to the making of a drama.
The programme will be prioritising Manchester and North West applicants for some of the places.
The programme runs from mid-February 2022 for six months.
