A brand new spirits tasting experience is coming to Manchester

Fancy becoming a spirits connoisseur for the day?

Well look no further, as a brand new spirits tasting experience is launching in the heart of Manchester city centre – and there’s vodka, rum and gin on the menu.

The ‘Taste the Distillery’ experience launches from 22nd October 2021 and will allow visitors the opportunity to taste and learn about six spirits, including multi award-winning Manchester Gin, as The Spirit of Manchester Distillery is behind the new experience. 

To celebrate the new visitor experience, The Spirit of Manchester Distillery has created a new Spirits Tasting Room, housed within the stunning Grade-II listed railway arches on Watson Street. 

The experience will focus on the tasting of One-Eyed Rebel Rum and Manchester Spirit Vodka, and also includes two favourites from the gin range including Manchester Gin Raspberry Infused and Manchester Gin Hacienda – all of which is produced in the centre of the city.

Seb and Jen, owners and gin lovers, started the distillery in their dining room in 2016 where they aimed to distil 100 bottles of gin per month.

In 2019, they moved into their forever home in the Watson Street arches where they can make up to a million bottles of gin a year.

“Our brand-new tasting experience brings to life our six years in the industry so far,” said Seb.

“We’ve spent those years perfecting the art of distillation across multiple spirits, and while it started with gin, we’re exploring exciting new products that we’re looking forward to sharing with our customers.

“A range of spirits – rather than a range of gins – means that there will always be something in the experience for everyone, and you’ll hopefully always come out of it learning something new.”

On arrival, guests will receive a welcome drink and can choose from vodka, rum, or gin, before starting their tour of the distillery.

Guests will get an insight into what goes into the process, this is then followed by a tutored tasting of The Spirit of Manchester Distillery spirit range where guests can learn about the flavour profiles and get a taste of what the team is so passionate about. 

The Taste the Distillery Experience will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour and is priced at £25pp. All distillery visitors will also receive 10% off in the distillery shop and at its cocktail lounge, Three Little Words.

The experience is available every Friday and Saturday for up to 20 people at various times throughout October and November, with regular times of Fridays at 2.30pm and Saturdays at 12.30pm being available to book throughout December.
