If you’ve walked down Deansgate in the past few years, you’ll have passed the national headquarters of the wildly successful tech company Sync.
Formerly known as GBM, Sync have a host of accreditations with leading tech companies, including being an Apple Authorised Reseller, Google For Education Partner and Microsoft Partner.
But as well as establishing Manchester as a hub for technology businesses, Sync are also engaged in an astonishing amount of charity work for the city and beyond.
With this in mind, it’s time to put the spotlight on this wonderful tech company with a heart.
Since establishing their flagship store in 2018, Sync have been active not only in retail but also in providing help to the growing number of start-up businesses in the North-West region.
Earlier this year, Sync helped countless businesses make the transition to Mac after results of an in-depth survey revealed the surge in productivity that came with switching to Mac in business.
And this is just a small part of the services they provide to budding entrepreneurs. Before the pandemic, the Sync team provided over 280 days of free face-to-face training and useful events to support local schools and around the UKI.
However, their good deeds go beyond the world of business and electronics, as shown by their recent partnerships with fantastic causes across the north west, this includes the St Helens Carer’s Trust, a local independent charity that serves the needs of local unpaid family carers.
As a token of appreciation for their hard work over the past year, this month everyone working there was given huge discounts on the products that Sync offer, from AirPods to iPads and more.
Sync also showed their commitment to the local community by launching their funded places scheme during the COVID crisis, taking courses that originally cost over £200 and making them completely free.
This gave the opportunity for people to learn how to use market-leading software from the tech giant Adobe, receiving an industry-recognised certificate at the end.
Thanks to the success of this first round of funded places, another line-up of courses are being planned for the very near future – stay in sync with their events page to find out more.
Sync are also a partner with the We Love MCR Charity, alongside companies like Marks & Spencer and HP.
The We Love MCR Charity is an organisation that looks to make a difference to the people who need it most, including providing grants to community groups, supporting individuals to overcome disadvantages and barriers, and providing volunteers to make a difference, and Sync have given invaluable support to young people and the wider communities that make up our diverse region.
By recognising that we live in a new, technological age, Sync are also helping future generations by supplying online resources that are openly available to teachers in all kinds of fields.
Sync’s charitable work over recent months shows that even though a business might be machine-driven, the heart of the company is what matters – and in this case, it’s something altogether more human and compassionate.
Whether it involves schools, homes or the workplace, this is a tech company that cares about people.
It doesn’t get much more Manchester than that.
