Manchester’s hospitality industry offered free online workouts to boost mental wellbeing

Sacha Lord has teamed up with Dr Jessicarr Moorhouse of TRIBE.MCR to offer fun, energy boosting exercises that people can do in their own time

There’s no doubt that Manchester’s hospitality industry is suffering immensely from the COVID-19 government restrictions.

From being in the Tier system to a controversial 10pm curfew, and with many now having to close under lockdown and trying to pivot to offer takeaway, delivery or home meal kits, it’s been a trying time to say the least.

Many say the constant state of flux is having a huge effect on the mental, physical and social health of those working in and around the industry.

Having previously teamed up with night-time economy adviser Sacha Lord on a wellbeing project in 2019, TRIBE.MCR are once again providing a series of free workouts for people working in the hospitality industry.

The aim will be to improve the mental wellbeing of those in the industry, who may be furloughed, at risk of unemployment or unemployed.

The sessions will also introduce fun, energy boosting exercises that people can do in their own time to help them feel better.

Participants can expect a 45 minute fun, inclusive workout where anyone is welcome, including children.

The first session will be on Thursday 12th November at 6pm. It will be led by Dr Jessicarr Moorhouse, founder of TRIBE.MCR.

Jessicarr is a Level 3 PT who focusing on the mental wellbeing benefits of physical activity.

She is also a part time NHS Doctor and knows full well that being active can have a huge impact on the way we feel.

Jessicarr promotes a holistic attitude to health and wellness, factoring in mental and social benefits as well as the obvious physical ones.

Her sessions combine years of clinical experience and a firm scientific knowledge with a passion for movement to help individuals create real, sustainable lifestyle changes.
