The beloved 90s toy shop returning to the Trafford Centre

Toys 'R' Us is making a return to Manchester with a new store opening at the Trafford Centre this summer.

It was a poignant moment when Toys ‘R’ Us closed its doors six years ago, leaving behind a treasure trove of childhood memories.

Now, those cherished moments are set to return as Toys ‘R’ Us makes a comeback at the Trafford Centre.

Toys ‘R’ Us at the Trafford Centre

Toys ‘R’ Us is back at the Trafford Centre, but not quite as we knew it back then.

This revival is spearheaded by WHP Global, now the owner of Toys ‘R’ Us, which has teamed up with WHSmith to introduce a series of Toys ‘R’ Us shop-in-shops across the UK.

With nine locations already up and running, the Trafford Centre is set to join this summer, bringing joy to kids and nostalgia to parents.

When will it open?

The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, from 10 am to 2 pm.

Geoffrey the Giraffe, the beloved mascot, will be there to cut the ribbon and greet visitors.

The first 100 children will receive a complimentary goody bag valued at over £20, so early arrival is recommended.

What will they sell?

The new Toys ‘R’ Us outlet will showcase a variety of products and interactive activities from top toy brands like Barbie, Bluey, Hot Wheels, LEGO, Marvel, Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Squishmallows, Star Wars, and more.

Kids can enjoy hands-on play at demonstration tables, and a life-size Geoffrey the Giraffe sculpture will be a perfect spot for photo opportunities.

The Trafford Centre store is one of 30 WHSmith locations slated to open before year-end, expanding on the initial nine launched in 2023.
