Hello Oriental Trafford Centre

Hello Oriental, the renowned Mancunian street food hall, is set to open at the Trafford Centre in October with a new food hall in the Upper Orient.

The brand has chosen Trafford Centre as its first UK shopping centre location, bringing its trademark street food dining concept, complete with over 100 delicious dishes for customers to choose from.

Hello Oriental at The Trafford Centre

The original city centre venue, situated in Circle Square just off Oxford Road, has been open since February 2022 and received rave reviews, with The Sunday Times describing it as “a lot of fun” and “seriously affordable’.

Owners and childhood best friends Ricky Yip and Azim Kourah have selected the most popular dishes from the extensive menu for the new Trafford Centre restaurant, bringing over 100 delicious dishes across to the new venue for customers to choose from.

What’s on the menu at Hello Oriental?

Diners can enjoy traditional dishes from across East Asia including a range of Dim Sum to choose from, or main dishes like Taiwanese pork belly with rice, and traditional favourites like beef Ho fun and Cantonese roast meats.

There’s also a wide selection of street food favourites available, like Korean Fried Chicken, Loaded Katsu Chicken Fries or three varieties of sticky chicken wings.

There is a full kid’s menu, with options like Prawn Won-Tons or Chicken Pho suited to the more adventurous junior palate or for those that prefer a more familiar taste there is Crispy Chicken Karaage, mild Salt and Pepper Chicken nuggets, or Fries.

It’s been a huge year so far for the Trafford Centre, with the massive SEPHORA opening – and Space NK arriving later this year.

Hello Oriental moving to the loved shopping centre is great news.

What did the owners have to say?

Co-owner Ricky Yip said “We’re so excited to open in the Trafford Centre and give shoppers the chance to try our dishes from across East Asia.

“Many of the dishes on the menu were enjoyed by Azim and I growing up, cooked by my family, or served in family restaurants. It’s wonderful to see other families come to Hello Oriental to enjoy these flavours.”

Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre said: “The arrival of Hello Oriental is part of a wider commitment to champion local, Manchester food talent.

“With an exciting food and beverage offering, Hello Oriental is a delicious addition to our ever-growing dining hub, and we look forward to welcoming them to the centre later this year.”
