Didsbury Gin to launch brand new raspberry and elderflower edition

Think of Didsbury and you think of a leafy, rather pleasant suburb of Manchester with some nice restaurants, pavement cafes, bars, shops, delis, and some very expensive houses.

Maybe that’s why it’s the only place in Manchester to have a gin named after it. (Salford has got Worsley Gin but that’s another story).

You’ve probably heard how two local gin enthusiasts took their inspiration from the botanical gardens of Parsonage and Fletcher Moss to create Alderman’s Didsbury Gin, a refreshing citrus twist on a classic London dry gin.

Vogue magazine has called Didsbury Gin ‘one of the most exciting new British gins’ and our resident gin expert Charlie Hooson-Sykes has given it the thumbs-up, too. This was her verdict:

“In a G&T, this is definitely an easy drinker. No bitter notes save those from the tonic – one for those who struggle with the heavily perfumed notes of a London Dry, with lots of citrus, herbals again coming through, but softened. A good refreshing G&T.”

What you probably haven’t heard is that Liam and Mark have been working on a new product which they’ll be launching on March 23rd at Street on 1st, the bar and restaurant on First Street.

It’s a raspberry and elderflower gin and it will be the star of the new drinks menu. Here’s a sneak peak.

So make a date in your diary. But don’t worry if you can’t make it because it will be available online and via Harvey Nichols and Selfridges.
