The Woodside pub in Worsley has reopened with a whole new look following an extensive refurbishment.

The pub, located on Ellenbrook Road, officially reopened its doors to guests at the weekend, with work having commenced in February.

The extensive renovation has transformed both the interior and exterior of the pub.

The new look pays homage to the traditional roots and picturesque location while also offering a bright, contemporary take on a classic country pub.

With origins going back to the 19th century, The Woodside has a long history in the mining industry and was originally constructed as a private house for use by the local mine manager.

After the end of coal mining in Worsley, The Woodside was used throughout the war as a private school for 12 children and then as a profitable milk farm.

Despite the mines now being gone, the pub remains popular with locals who enjoy visiting the traditional pub steeped in heritage.

Changes include the addition of a stylish private dining area, a beautiful new garden and elegantly styled interiors.

And along with a striking, original new look, The Woodside has also introduced an all-new food offering.

In addition to lunch and dinner, the pub now offers a brunch menu which boasts a selection of popular dishes from 9am until midday Monday to Saturday and 11.30am on Sundays.

The new dinner menu offers freshly cooked dishes including chargrilled skewers, stonebaked pizzas, steaks and roasts alongside a selection of wines, gins, craft beers and cocktails.

Following a significant investment, eight new full and part time jobs have been created for the local area and the Worsley pub is currently seeking to recruit talented new team members for both front and back of house roles.

“We’ve worked hard to create a truly unique and stimulating experience for our guests and are so pleased at how brilliant The Woodside looks following the refurbishment,” says general manager, Claire Lockhart.

“The changes to The Woodside are all centred around creating an original country pub with a real difference.

“The new Woodside will provide both our regulars and first-time guests with an exciting location to enjoy high-quality dining in beautiful surroundings.

“Both myself and the whole team are incredibly excited to welcome guests to experience the new Woodside for themselves.

“We hope that they love the transformation.”
