Victoria Baths’ first ever vegan and ethical Markets are coming to the Grade II listed heritage destination this June.
The events will bring together some brilliant makers and creators and see the yard outside transformed into an al fresco eating and drinking space, perfect for a summer social that will continue into the early evening.
Brightening up two June weekends and with a focus on a sustainable and ethical lifestyle, the eclectic range of products being showcased will be a feast for all the senses; food treats, home crafts, sustainable household creations, recycled jewellery and much more.
All the products on sale are suitable for vegans, with stallholders including the sustainable living company Rootstock, which will have a range of household products and kits available that help to make eco living a reality, and 8th Day Co-operative will be bringing a taste of what’s made it Manchester’s leading vegan and vegetarian specialist since 1970.
There will be the design-led colourful recycled plastic conceptions of Plastic Shed, which include everything from jewellery to planters, and the chic creations of Studio Dawn featuring stunning ceramics and intricate macramé.
Stallholders will be dotted around the Gala Pool and Sports Hall, the awe-inspiring architecture and design of each adding to the atmosphere, including Victoria Baths Gift Stall, where you’ll find a beautiful range of products inspired by Manchester’s water palace.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the building, including a permanent exhibition telling the story of Victoria Baths and the chance to see two newly restored large stained glass windows in the Females Pool.
Celebrating the summer, and with a festival feel setting the vibe, the yard outside will be transformed into a fully vegan eating and drinking space.
A huge marquee, trestle tables, vegan street food and an outdoor vegan bar will all combine to create the type of summer event that everyone’s been looking forward to.
Visitors can also enjoy a completely vegan range of drinks and cakes in the Victoria Baths Tea Room inside the building.
“Victoria Baths’ vegan and ethical markets have been designed with the feel-good factor in mind, we want people to enjoy their time here, meet up with family and friends, discover some great local makers and creators and enjoy some fantastic food and drink,” said operations manager Elizabeth Sibbering.
“We’ll be making the most of the areas that make up Victoria Baths and for the first time using the yard outside as part of the occasion, which is going to be a terrific location for food, drink and relaxing.”
The markets will take place at Victoria Baths on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th June, and Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June, from 11am until 8pm.
