The Manchester office of one of the UK’s top independent planning and design consultancies, Barton Willmore, unveiled a unique hand-illustrated map of Manchester at their 80th anniversary celebrations.
The giant canvas features over 500 illustrations of Manchester’s famous culture, people, music, history and places hand drawn by Barton Willmore’s graphic design team. The map was raffled to raise funds for two homelessness charities – The Big Change Manchester and Shelter, Barton Willmore’s corporate charity partner. Copies are being made available to the public to raise more money.
Dan Mitchell, partner at Barton Willmore’s Manchester office said: “Our graphic design team have done a fantastic job in creating this map to celebrate Manchester. The map really highlights Manchester’s cultural strengths and what a fantastic place Manchester is to live, work and play.
“We are passionate about enhancing the look and feel of the city and in showing our commitment to the exciting developments and changes ahead. Hopefully the reveal of our map tonight will raise a good amount of funds for these two important charities.”
Giclee print copies of the map are being sold in aid of the charities at HOME, The John Rylands Library and The People’s History Museum in the coming weeks.
