Stretford Market is back at Stretford Mall from Saturday 24th April.

Located on the Green outside the Mall, the market will be supporting local businesses and makers, with up to a range of stalls serving up a fabulous range of locally produced and sustainable goods.

There will be a farmers’ market area featuring the likes of Pextenement Organic Cheese and Nectar Bar locally grown flowers.

An artisan food section will showcase local brands like Nila’s Homemade Curry Pastes and Kits, while the makers’ section  will bring art and crafts from local enterprises such as Jive Prints, and a ‘flea market’ will bring vintage clothes and accessories into the mix.

Stretford Market has a sustainability focus, with lots of opportunities and inspiration for reducing, reusing and recycling.

There is also encouragement and support for brand new traders, looking to try out a new product or business idea.

There’ll be independent street food on site too, as well as a COVID compliant pop-up bar with a seating area.

Plus there will be a range of children’s activities, and live music.

To ensure that the event is fully COVID-compliant and to ensure that vendors and customers feel safe and comfortable at all times, the team have chosen to kick off with a reduced number of stalls to maximise social distancing.

“We love seeing how our market slots into the growing mix of vibrant, independent businesses that make up the Stretford Mall community,” said Annika Edge from Stretford Markets.

“Last year we helped kickstart a number of local micro-businesses and we cannot wait to see that again this year.

“We’re really proud to promote local farmers as part of our market and hope this will allow our customers to buy the lovely fresh ingredients to make for some really special, local and ethical meals for 2021.”

It’s another way for everyone to “support local, independent businesses, and bring a fantastic new shopping experience to the neighbourhood at the same time,” said Gareth Wilkinson from Stretford Mall.

“It will be wonderful to see the community out and enjoying the area safely again – we can’t wait!”

Stretford Market will take place on the last Saturday of every month, from 10am to 4pm and there are still a few spaces available for businesses to take part.
