Popular US chicken restaurant, Slim Chickens, is winging its way to Manchester Arndale with the launch of the brand’s first city centre restaurant.

Having created 60 new jobs, ‘Slims’ will throw open its doors on the Upper Mall on Thursday 24th February, offering seating for more than 100 diners across two floors.

The Manchester launch marks the brand’s 16th UK restaurant, and adds to the city’s existing Slims restaurant at the Trafford Centre.

Famous for its chicken tenders and hugely popular in the USA, Slim Chickens offers good old Southern hospitality, serving up cooked-to-order premium chicken served in less than 10 minutes with a side of Blues music.

Diners can choose from Slims’ signature buttermilk marinated chicken and house specialities, including crispy tenders, alongside a range of 15 signature dipping sauces including blue cheese, sriracha garlic, and a seriously hot fiery inferno sauce.

There’ll also be fresh chicken sandwiches, wings, salads and wraps, as well as vegetarian options and sides such as pickles and mac’n’cheese.

Drinks include hand-spun shakes, IPA and unique signature cocktails such as the Corn Star Martini and Whiskey Smash.

“Manchester is home to a thriving and diverse food scene, and we can’t wait to be a bigger part of it as we prepare to open our Manchester Arndale restaurant,” said Phil Neale, marketing and communications director at Boparan Restaurant Group, which owns Slim Chickens.

“We opened our restaurant at the Trafford Centre less than a year ago, and we’ve been delighted with its success to date – so much so that we’re expanding our local offering with the launch of our Manchester Arndale restaurant.

“Slims is all about premium and freshly cooked chicken, every time.

“We’re passionate about quality and use only the best ingredients that our guests deserve, including 100% all natural British chicken and our own house recipes.

“We’re dedicated to serving great food in a great atmosphere and look forward to welcoming even more Manchester foodies into our restaurant from 24th February.”

At Slim Chickens, food and drinks are served up alongside BT Sport, with US Sports, Premier League and Champions League shown.

“It’s great news that Slim Chickens will be moving into Manchester Arndale for what will be a fantastic addition to the dynamic mix of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities that we offer,” said Colin Flinn, spokesperson for Manchester Arndale.

“The arrival of such a fast-growing restaurant chain helps to strengthen the centre’s position as a must-have trading location and follows recent lettings to other on-trend places to eat such as Kokoro, Pizza Luxe, Archie’s and Doner Shack.

“We are looking forward to working with Slim Chickens as it prepares to open in February, and we hope to share more exciting news about other new occupiers in the coming weeks as we continue to make Manchester Arndale home to a diverse set of dining experiences alongside leisure and lifestyle operators, supported by a wide-ranging retail offer.”
