Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer has this month opened a second branch of Greens, his popular vegetarian restaurant, in Sale.
The original Didsbury restaurant was opened by Simon and his business partner and restaurant manager, Simon Connolly, in 1990.
The new Greens restaurant is located in the Stanley Square development in Sale, and is part of the duo’s plans to grow the business with more branches in the north west, according to the Big Hospitality website.
It seats more than 100 people and the new Stanley Square restaurant also has an outside terrace and roof garden, with a bar serving cocktails, craft beers and organic wines.
The menu is fully vegetarian with several vegan options, and features local produce.
It includes signature dishes such as the oyster mushroom pancakes with spring onion, cucumber and plum sauce, and the truffled mushroom wellington with pressed potato and maple glazed carrot.
Desserts include pina colada cheesecake and miso banana sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, while a kids menu features spinach, pistachio and feta filo pie with chips or gnocchi with tomato sauce and garlic bread.
And the new restaurant also has sustainability at its heart, with everything from the building design to the menu and energy usage designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
“We have built upon Greens well-loved formula and taken the concept further by introducing: a funky and welcoming bar for cocktails, craft beers and organic wines; a relaxing roof garden; a street terrace; and all day opening for a drink and a snack,” says their website.
“The full menu is available in the bar and the restaurant, and the roof garden offers delicious sharing platters.”
Small, well behaved dogs are welcome in the bar area until 5pm every day.
Greens is open now at Unit 14-16 Stanley Square, Sale, M33 7WZ. You can find out more and book here.
