Parklife 2019

Parklife Festival organisers have announced today that the Heaton Park event will no longer be taking place this year.

In a statement released on social media, the team said it had been “closely monitoring the unprecedented situation and it has now become clear that its simply not possible for Parklife 2020 to go ahead.”

Stressing their disappointment, they said that the decision has not been taken lightly, adding: “we really did try to make this work. But ultimately it was unavoidable.

“We would like to apologise to everyone who was looking forward to it as much as we were and we would like to thank all of you for such incredible support. Parklife will return stronger than ever.”

The festival has said it is working closely with ticketing partners at the moment to process refunds or carry tickets over to next year’s festival, depending on each person’s individual preference.

They have told ticket holders to look out for an email for their ticketing agent “very soon” and have asked people to only contact agents if they have not heard anything within the next five days.

This year’s festival would have been the event’s tenth edition, with headliners due to appear included Tyler, the Creator, Skepta, Anderson. Paak, Jorja Smith, Hot Chip, Lewis Capaldi, Khalid and Giggs.

The event will return next year on June 12th and 13th 2021.
