MCR Fashion Festival confirms biggest event yet with star performers and designers in Manchester

MCR Fashion Festival

MCR Fashion Festival – which celebrates Manchester’s ever-growing style credentials – is to return with big star names, catwalk shows and global fashion designers this October.

After the success of 2018’s Met Gala style MCR Fashion Festival, organisers are promising an even bigger event for 2019 showcasing the latest trends, star guests and an array of catwalk shows from Manchester’s global designers to the city’s rising stars.

We can expect another night of glamour on October 12th at Manchester’s Hilton Hotel with catwalk shows including from in-demand couture designer Zeynep Kartal, and star performances from The Wanted star Max George and former Corrie favourite Victoria Ekanoye.

Zeynep will showcase her lastest Spring/Summer 2020 fashion collection after another stellar year for the Manchester-based design talent.  She has dressed a number of celebrities including Lady Gaga, Cheryl Cole, Amanda Holden and Tess Daly, and is know for her high glamour evening gowns and sophisticated tailoring.

She will be joined on the catwalk by Mena Hamoodi, another celebrity favourite who showcased at the 2018 event as a rising star but has gone on to have her designs worn by a number of stars and featured in OK! Magazine.

There will also be a special showcase from Manchester-based fashion house Forever Unique – the glamorous brand created by Real Housewives of Cheshire star Seema Malhotra and her family.

Other designers showcasing on the catwalks will be Junq Couture, Neon Rose and Native Youth alongside rising star Dysfunctional.

MCR Fashion Festival was founded and organised by local entrepreneurs Lisa Forshaw, Laura Stubbs and Rob Stubbs, with MCRFF Ambassadors appointed as designer Zeynep and acclaimed actress Bhavna Limbachia. This year’s event will be sponsored by I Love MCR, fashion boutique Liberty Bluff, Cloud 23, Clinica and The Gourmet Cakery Co.

Following the success of the inaugural MCR Fashion Festival in February 2018, the October 2018 event became a spectacular ‘Met Gala’ style event including catwalk fashion shows, a three-course dinner, drinks reception and live entertainment and took place at The Midland Hotel in front of 350 guests, which included many VIPs, Manchester businesses, stylists and fashion lovers.

As with the last event, the October 12th festival will also include catwalks of the most promising fashion graduates and rising stars to come out of Manchester, as well as a showcase of I Love MCR’s very own range of 100% organic, ethically sourced fashions showing pride in the city.

Also performing on the night alongside Max George will be rising music star and owner of the Honey I’m Home Interior Company, Maddison Anastasia. Brazilian band Baiana, a favourite within the premier league, will also be performing along with more surprises on the night.
