In need of a cocktail fix to mark the end of another week in lockdown? Well, we have some good news. You can now get the familiar tastes of your favourite Manchester bars delivered right to your doorstep.

Many of us are missing going out for drinks right now. There’s nothing quite like catching up with a friend over an expertly crafted cocktail to start the weekend right. While we sadly can’t bring you the hustle and bustle of a popular bar on a Friday night, we can help you find the best cocktail delivery options in Manchester. Now you can drink at home in style.

These home delivery services are guaranteed to improve your big night in. Perhaps even more importantly, getting a drink delivered is a great way to support your local bars and bartenders, making sure that your favourite cocktail spots are still there waiting for you when all of this is over. Cheers…

There are two options to order your cocktails:

Highball Drinks Drop

Highball Brands is a distribution agency that aims to import and distribute some of the best drinks brands from around the world. During the Coronavirus crisis, the company have set up The Drinks Drop, a home delivery service with 100% of profits going to the bars taking part. All cocktails are made by a team who have undergone full training on how to operate in a hygienic way appropriate to these times. The drinks are delivered in accordance with the government’s current safety guidelines and arrive chilled and ready to enjoy. As an extra, you can even order a bag of ice.

‘Cocktails at Home’ by Bacardi and Deliveroo

Bacardi has teamed up with Deliveroo to help the industry run their own virtual bar. All profits go to the teams listed on the menu, which changes every three weeks to keep things exciting. The cocktails are perfectly batched and ready to serve from the bottle.

So, which Manchester bars are taking part?

The Liars Club

This tropical hideaway usually offers a welcome escape from the city’s drizzly streets. Although you can’t head to their famous tiki basement bar right now, you don’t have to miss out on their exotic cocktail concoctions.

Their punchy Auburn Sunset is available to order now from Highball Drinks Drop, ready to transport you straight to tropical paradise. With ingredients including Takamaka white rum, guava juice, blood orange syrup and passionfruit extract, this colourful cocktail is the perfect dose of tiki escapism.

If you’re after something a little more refined, their Good Citizen cocktail is currently available over at the Deliveroo virtual bar. Each bottle serves two people and contains Cuatro rum, orange vermouth, earl grey syrup, and lemon and orange bitters.

Cocktail Beer Ramen + Bun (CBRB)

Tucked away in the Northern Quarter, Manchester’s only late-night ramen joint has become a firm city favourite since it opened in 2018. The award-winning bar focuses on simplicity and quality, mixing up innovative drinks using the highest quality ingredients.

Their #21 cocktail can be ordered from Highball and offers subtle floral tones and fruity freshness. With the indulgent texture of white cacao, a cooling hit of Ramsbury gin, and the refreshing flavour of crème de pêche, this is the ideal drink to welcome in the spring.

Cultureplex

Not only is Cultureplex one of the city’s coolest new destinations, but it really knows its stuff about food and drink. With a lounge, restaurant, miniature cinema and various event spaces, this exciting cultural hangout usually offers various weekly classes and workshops.

Now, the Cultureplex team are focusing on delivering their delicious Corazon Margarita to the people of Manchester. Available via Deliveroo’s virtual bar, this perfectly balanced drink features tequila, orange vermouth, strawberry, lemon, honey, and orange bitters. Serve over ice for a tasty treat that’s perfect for the hot weather.

Cottonopolis

This Japanese inspired bar and restaurant is housed in a grade II listed building in the Northern Quarter. While you might be missing their decadent weekend bottomless brunch, you can still make the most of their cocktail expertise. For the award-winning Cottonopolis bartenders, mixing drinks is an artform. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, they focus on high-quality ingredients, unique textures, and distinctive aromas to create moments of sheer enjoyment.

Their Rhubarb Gimlet cocktail blends rhubarb juice, sugar, and supasawa with gin and is available via Highball. Through Deliveroo’s virtual bar, you can currently get your hands on Apple Of My Eye, a warming concoction of Bombay Sapphire, spiced apple, Sauvignon Blanc and Calvados.

Crazy Pedro’s

Though famous for providing some of the best pizza in Manchester, the team at Crazy Pedro’s know what they’re doing when it comes to cocktails, too. Their frozen margaritas are the stuff of legend and their unique drinks menu keeps the party going all night, all week long.

Shake up your evening by ordering their First National cocktail from Highball. Inspired by the red, white, and green of the Mexican National flag, the smoky tones of mezcal (Mexico’s national drink) are balanced by honey, citrus, and chilli, giving the end of the week a bit of a kick.

The Jane Eyre

This friendly neighbourhood bar is run by two brothers and specialises in classic cocktails with a contemporary twist. Built and named in memory of their mum (not, as many might assume, after the Jane of Charlotte Brontë’s famous novel), The Jane Eyre is a real labour of love.

Staying true to their goal of providing punchy drinks that let the spirit do the talking, their House Collins cocktail is now available through Highball. With the fresh flavours of grapefruit, lemon, and Ramsbury Single Estate vodka, this is the perfect drink for a sunny day in the garden.

Grindsmith

Grindsmith is a coffee shop rather than a bar, but that hasn’t stopped it from making its way onto Highball’s cocktail menu. The café’s own coldbrew has subtle milk chocolate and floral undertones, which makes it an ideal pairing for Takamaka coconut rum, bitter orange liqueur, almond oil and sugar syrup. The result is a smooth Coffee Mai Tai, best served over ice.

This cocktail is perfect for anyone who is missing their favourite bar and their favourite coffee shop in equal measures. Grindsmith is a staple of the city’s coffee scene, boasting both a much-loved café and a local roastery.
