Manchester’s iconic 5-star city centre hotel, The Lowry Hotel, will swing open its doors on Monday 17th May to welcome back overnight leisure guests and visitors to the award-winning River Restaurant and Lowry Lounge & Bar.

But this is no ordinary year, as the hotel is celebrating two decades of unparalleled service excellence with a calendar of activities to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

For the remainder of 2021, a calendar of events has been carefully planned out including a range of celebratory activities.

This will include a 20th Anniversary Afternoon Tea stacked high with cakes and sweet treats, and a treasure hunt around the city with prizes to celebrate the very best of The Lowry Hotel.

Prizes include spa treatments, cocktails and overnight stays – and one lucky winner will even scoop up one night in the hotel’s presidential suite, the largest and most prestigious accommodation the city has to offer.

The Hotel’s stylish River Restaurant, which is currently open for al fresco dining on the terrace, will reopen with fan-favourites on the menu – including the restaurant’s famously decadent Sunday lunch, priced at £25pp for three courses.

Choose from roast topside of Cheshire farm beef loaded with Yorkshire puddings and rich gravy, crispy Gloucester old spot pork belly, or broccoli and tofu massaman as a vegetarian option.

Food lovers rejoice – The River Restaurant’s award-winning menu created by chef Dave Ashton includes locally sourced Cheshire farm lamb, cauliflower katsu with coconut puffed rice and smoked haddock fish pie with caramelised Panko breadcrumbs.

Lowry inspired signature cocktails will also be returning to the Lounge & Bar, including ‘Bee Keeper’ – a rum-based cocktail infused with honey from The Lowry Hotel’s very own beehives at the Manchester Bee Centre.

Guests will also be eager to enjoy the luxury facilities at The Lowry Spa. And, with restrictions easing there’s no better way to get some well-earned quality time.

Spa bookings have already seen a 65% spike in bookings for their Restart and Renew duo spa package, which entitles those booking to bring a friend.

“The UK hospitality industry has been hit hard over the past year but we’re ready to bounce back,” said Adrian Ellis, General Manager at The Lowry Hotel.

“The team at The Lowry Hotel are feeling extremely positive about welcoming guests old and new to join us in celebrating both our reopening and our 20th anniversary.

“In true Lowry style, we cannot wait to launch our celebratory 20th Anniversary Afternoon Tea, which promises an afternoon of indulgence, where guests will enjoy delicately crafted sweet treats prepared in house by our dedicated pastry chefs.

“It’s a full year of celebrations and I personally feel very optimistic and excited at the prospect of a busy hotel and restaurant, filled with guests, enjoying themselves once again.”

Guests old and new will all be able to get involved in activities in honour of the hotel’s 20th year in the city – keep an eye out on The Lowry Hotel’s social media channels to find out how you can get involved.
