The company has officially submitted plans to demolish the existing buildings at Riverside Retail Park in Ordsall, with the vision of constructing a monumental tower that would stand as the country’s third tallest structure.
According to records from the Land Registry, Imco Holdings currently owns the site where Riverside Retail Park is located.
Demolition of Grosvenor Casino, McDonald’s, and KFC
The planning documents reveal the involvement of Forshaw Land and Property, a renowned developer, in the demolition of the Grosvenor Casino, McDonald’s, and KFC.
As part of the grand redevelopment scheme, Forshaw Land and Property is also working on the construction of Pavillion Wharf, an impressive residential complex featuring 160 apartments.
In the planning application for this development, an outline has been provided that showcases the potential transformation of Riverside Retail Park.
Alongside Pavillion Wharf, the plans suggest the construction of an additional four blocks, ranging from nine to 25 storeys, in the area currently occupied by the casino and two fast-food restaurants.

Situated opposite Regent Retail Park, Riverside Retail Park finds itself amidst a wave of transformative proposals.
Henley Investment Management has also presented plans to redevelop Regent Retail Park into a residential hub, featuring an impressive 264-meter tower.
If constructed, this tower would proudly claim the title of the country’s third tallest structure, further elevating the area’s architectural significance.
These projects collectively signify a westward extension of Manchester city centre, with numerous pipeline developments on the horizon.
Across the border in Manchester, Renaker is actively working on the delivery of River Gardens, a striking redevelopment project situated on the Trinity Islands site.
This ambitious scheme comprises four towers and an impressive total of 1,950 apartments, further adding to the city’s growing skyline.
As Imco Holdings paves the way for the redevelopment of Riverside Retail Park, this will be another massive project punctuating the Manchester skyline.
