Executives from some of Manchester’s biggest businesses will swap the boardroom for the ballroom at a Strictly Come Dancing-inspired charity dance event.

The Strictly Seashell ball will see bosses of major north west businesses including ecommerce giants PrettyLittleThing, The Hut Group and retailer Home Bargains go toe-to-toe on the dance floor for the charity event.

The nine volunteers have been paired with professional dance partners and are undertaking ten weeks of gruelling dance training before showing off their grooves on the dancefloor at the Hilton Hotel on Deansgate on Saturday 11th May in a bid to win the coveted Seashell glitterball trophy.

The competitors for the 2019 event are Joe Morris, operations director of Home Bargains, Jodie Moulding and Joanne Gallemore from The Hut Group, Aisha Kamani from PrettyLittleThing, Michael Josephson MBE, MD of Stocks 2015 Ltd, Roland Dransfield PR boss Lisa Morton, Sanjeev Bhatia, director of Terminal 1 Clothing, Martine Tempest-Mitchell from Timpson Group, and I Love MCR‘s very own assistant editor Dianne Bourne.

They were able to size up each other’s fancy footwork at the official launch for the event held at Boodles on King Street – with PLT’s Aisha and Home Bargains’ Joe even showcasing a little of their cha cha cha training on the night.

The dancers are training with Ray Bulpitt’s Dancewiz in Wilmslow and Cadman’s Dance Centre in Sale. And putting their best foot forward is all part of the bid to raise £100,000 at this year’s event for Cheadle Hulme-based disability charity the Seashell Trust.

Seashell Trust’s chief executive Jolanta McCall said: “We’re delighted to have such great people involved in Strictly Seashell this year.

“The money raised for our charity will be put towards giving children and young people in our care a safe and happy environment to achieve their potential within the community and we’re looking forward to what promises to be a fabulous event.”
