Champagne isn’t the only option...

Another important part of the upcoming festive season is your choice of plonk and fizz. I’m sure many of you will have seen those blind taste tests of the best champagnes versus the supermarket own brands. But let’s not get too fooled here – champagne isn’t the only option!

“…Stelle D’Italia prosecco for just £19 every Friday with homemade breads and oils to tuck into for the perfect after work social…”

Over the last few years, prosecco has really come into its own. Now I have to confess to a little sentimentality when it comes to Italy’s sparkling wine. I spent some time last year in Lake Garda and drank quite a lot of the stuff. Since then, every time someone suggests a glass of prosecco my mind is instantly transported to that sun drenched lakeside.

There was a time when mainstream shops sold champagne or ‘nasty asti’. Now you can stock up a vast range of different champagnes, cavas and proseccos. And it is certainly worth investigating some of those less obvious choices.

Abodemanchester Fizzyfridays

Here at Cafe Bar & Grill at ABode we have been delighted to have been able to bring a delicious prosecco to the Manchester public at a great price every Friday for some time. ‘Fizzy Fridays‘ sees us offering Stelle D’Italia prosecco for just £19 every Friday with homemade breads and oils to tuck into for the perfect after work social – add in some great music and what more do you need?

So, when you’re stocking up the drinks cabinet, take at look at a nice prosecco – I do and keep thinking of that Italian sun!

Next week I shall be raiding the chef’s recipe books again. Till then – wrap up warm!

FFB!
