Mancunians will doing some weird and wonderful things next week. No change there then, you may say, but on this occasion it’s for a good cause – raising funds for Forever Manchester, the charity which funds and supports community activity across Greater Manchester. From kids’ football teams to allotment groups, older people’s clubs to disability projects. You name it, they’ve funded it.

Lots of food and drink offers, products and events have been created specifically to raise money for Forever Manchester, so if the thought of a Stone Roses cocktail, Curry Mile pizza, or Mancunian ravioli tickles your fancy, step this way for these and many more offers.

DeCASKthlon

The DeCASKthlon is like a decathlon, but with pubs, pints and, well, more pints. In other words, it’s a pub crawl. The aim is to make it to 10 NQ pubs and bars for some charitable drinking. All of them will be taking part in Manchester Beer Week, with Forever Manchester the charity partner. Some of them will also be serving Forever Manchester’s 10 Boroughs Pale Ale, which raises money for Forever Manchester, so be sure to try it! Participants pay £1 per pub entered, and anyone who doesn’t make the end because they’re rubbish will be fined £2 per pub missed. Starting at 1pm at The Blue Pig, 30 minutes will be spent in each bar with Walrus, Odd Bar, Cane & Grain, Soup Kitchen, Bakerie, PLY, Port St Beer House, Kosmonaut and Tariff & Dale also on the list.
