As the city gears up for the colourful celebrations of Manchester Pride this weekend, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester is adding a spectacular tribute to the festivities—a LEGO mosaic honouring one of the North West’s most beloved entertainers, Foo Foo Lammar.
Foo Foo Lammar
Crafted by LEGOLAND’s own Master Model Builder, Jacob McPeake, this dazzling piece of art stands as a vivid homage to the legendary drag queen.
Measuring an impressive 89cm by 89cm, the mosaic is composed of a whopping 9,216 LEGO pieces.
It features Foo Foo Lammar’s iconic blonde bouffant wig, signature dangling earrings, and sharp wit, all brought to life through the intricate LEGO greebling technique, which adds texture and flair to the creation.
“Buzzing to be Queer!”
Adding a touch of local pride, the mosaic is framed with a vibrant rainbow border and crowned by a giant 3D bee—a symbol of Manchester’s resilient spirit. The bee also ties in beautifully with this year’s Manchester Pride theme, “Buzzing to be Queer!”
The mastermind behind this LEGO masterpiece, Jacob McPeake, shared his excitement about the project: “We are beyond delighted to unveil this tribute to Foo Foo Lammar.
“Their legacy continues to resonate throughout Manchester and beyond. Creating this mosaic has been an honour, and I hope it brings joy and pride to everyone celebrating in Manchester this August.
“It took a lot of imagination and over 9,000 LEGO pieces to create the artwork, so to see the final creation is really special.”
