On August 1st, the Trafford Centre is set to host an event that shines a spotlight on the bravery, dedication, and selflessness of the men and women who make up the UK’s emergency services.
Emergency Services Day is a free family event returning to the Trafford Centre, offering the public a unique opportunity to engage with and support our nation’s everyday heroes.
Emergency Services Day at The Trafford Centre
Events aren’t just happening at the Trafford Centre. This is a national event celebrated across the UK, receiving support from the highest levels of government, including HM The King, HRH The Prince of Wales, and the Prime Minister.
This day is dedicated to honouring the tireless efforts of the NHS and emergency services, acknowledging their crucial role in keeping us safe and healthy.
One of the central themes is to celebrate and promote the outstanding contributions of emergency service personnel.
This includes those who are currently serving as well as those who have served in the past.
Stories from the front line on Emergency Services Day
The event at the Trafford Centre will feature stories and testimonials from various emergency service workers, giving the public a deeper understanding of their daily challenges and triumphs.
The event, taking place on Regent 13 car park from 10 am – 4 pm, will welcome hundreds of different personnel from a host of departments including Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue, North West Ambulance Service, Greater Manchester Police and many more.
Representatives will be on hand to meet fans, talk about what they do on a daily basis and provide demonstrations.
Career and Volunteer Opportunities
For those inspired by the bravery of our emergency services, this event offers a fantastic opportunity to explore various career and volunteer roles.
Special Constables, Retained Firefighters, NHS Community Responders, and many more volunteer positions play an essential role in the fabric of Britain’s emergency services.
The event will have representatives from these fields providing information on how to get involved and make a difference.
10,000 people expected
There will be performances from bands and choirs, character appearances and demonstrations, as well as the chance for little ones to get up close and personal to both modern and vintage fire engines, ambulances and police cars.
The event attracts over 10,000 people across the day and will start with an opening ceremony from the Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester, Kate Green.
