This dessert parlour in Ancoats serves ice cream for dogs – and we’re in love

A new dessert parlour has landed in Ancoats serving up sweet treats that owners and their dogs can enjoy together.

It’s housed next to Pollen bakery on the marina in a popular dog-walking spot and serves sweet treats including ice cream, crepes and waffles.

Founded by Emma Eskdale, previously behind the Funky Cow in Chester, the dessert parlour is called Northern Eudaimonia.

And its savvy owner has even got special ice cream for dogs, so our four-legged friends needn’t feel left out.

The dog-friendly vanilla ice cream is packed with anti-oxidants and omega 3 and can even be eaten by humans, too.

But owner Emma recommends dog owners opt for her other ice creams, which come from Leeds producer Northern Bloc.

These can be ordered sundae-style or on top of stacked liege waffles or crepes.

Tongue-in-cheek names like ‘Ferrero Eyes Only,’ ‘Oreo-gasm’ and ‘I Wasn’t Bourbon Yesterday’ add a quirky twist to dessert specials.

A tasty array of cakes, bronuts, coffees from Outpost and loose-leaf teas make the cafe offering complete.

Find Northern Eudaimonia at Cottonfield Wharf in Ancoats.
