According to a local social media agency which monitors global trends and conversations, top of the trending topics most weekends amongst Manchester’s city dwellers is where to go for a boozy brunch.

The question has gone from, “where are we going for breakfast?” to “where are we going for brunch?”

“People are wanting to eat what they term breakfast, but instead of cereal at 9am, it might be brunch of smashed avocado, bacon and poached eggs with bottomless mimosas or Bloody Marys at 1pm,” says Ray Sherlock, director of Engage Hub.

So the award-winning creative team at Engage Hub led by Jonathan Sherlock have decided it’s time to give thousands of brunch lovers the chance to vote for the best brunch in the city.

Teaming up with the MEN, Key 103 and I Love MCR, they’ve signed up some of the city’s top brunch venues including Walrus, Alchemist and the Chop Houses to take part in feeding over 4,000 brunchers in a Battle of the Brunch to win the coveted title of Best Brunch in Manchester.

The public will be encouraged to share their views across social media with prize money up for grabs for the most shared facebook post, the most retweeted tweet, best snapchat story and the most popular Instagram post.

At the same time, a panel of judges including Chris Greenhalgh from I Love MCR, Simon Binns from the MEN and The Real Housewives of Cheshire’s Tanya and Leanne will be eating their way round the city and awarding points for food quality, taste, presentation alongside customer service, atmosphere and overall experience. Let battle commence. And may the best brunch win.
