A new festival is coming to Manchester this October, and it promises to be a fun-packed celebration of the most exciting and exclusive wines and sparkling wines from around the world.

Manchester Cathedral will be the grand setting for the event, part of the Manchester Food & Drink Festival 2019, that will bring together an impressive roster of merchants including many of the city’s local acclaimed wine experts and shops as well as brands from around the world.

The festival will be split into four dedicated zones: English Wines, Wines of the World, the Fizz Quarter, and a Food Matching area dedicated to providing the perfect accompaniment to the wines on offer from artisan cheese and chocolate to mezze, deli platters and patisserie.

You’ll be able to taste their way around all quarters of the festival armed with your tasting glass, as well as being able to buy wine by the bottle and glass – and you can have a sit down in between thanks to dedicated seating areas.

There’ll also be live music throughout, adding to the laid-back festival feel, as well as a full programme of tutored tastings and masterclasses on a variety of topics.

A few confirmed brands already taking part include Croatian Fine Wines, who will be showcasing an exclusive collection from Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Macedonia, and 3D wines, who will be bringing a number of wines from their French, Italian and New Zealand vineyards as well as some wine gifts and subscription boxes.

There will also be a selection from the People’s Choice Wine Awards, who will be bringing all the winning wines from their 2019 competition.

With wine and fizz bars, live music and artisan food, this new festival looks to be a sparkling addition to the foodie calendar.

Tickets for the MFDF Wine and Fizz Fest are on sale now at £15 for various sessions:
Friday 4th October 6.30pm-9.30pm; Saturday 5th October 1pm-4pm; and Saturday 5th October 6.30pm-9.30pm.
