Late night dancing and Flaming Zombies are back as Hula reopens

Out of all the things we’ve missed over the past year, dancing with our mates until the early hours is right up there.

Now, as restrictions are officially being lifted, we’re ready for the party to start all parties.

Step forward late-night party bar and all-round Northern Quarter favourite, Hula.

Manchester’s most popular Tiki bar is reopening next Monday with a huge welcome back party to celebrate the end of restrictions. It’s time for Hula Unleashed.

With its late license, Hula has always been the go-to late-night venue in the Northern Quarter.

The party bar on Stevenson Square is known for its legendary (and seriously strong) Flaming Zombies as well as its wild cocktail creations – Tiki Vimto or Cherry Colada, anyone?

We’ve missed its cans of Red Stripe and Beaver Town Neck Oil and sweet, nostalgic Hoola Hooch.

Now, they say, it’s time to unleash all the frustrations of a missing year after restrictions, curfews and enforced closures have taken a huge toll on the nightlife industry.

So they’ll be going 10 hours straight from 5pm Monday 19th July – so-called “freedom day” – until 3am, with DJ Gareth Brooks back on the decks to keep everyone on the dancefloor.

“Book the Tuesday off work and come join me for a dance,” the DJ tweeted.

The venue will be closed this weekend in anticipation.

Tickets for the party are free – and your ticket includes a free drink on arrival and queue jump.

Get ready for a night of club classics, grime, hip hop, pop and R&B. Not to mention some of those Flaming Zombies.

“Let’s drink to forget how shit this last year has been and celebrate having the freedom to lick a stranger’s face in a sweaty nightclub at three in the morning,” said Hula.

“Get ready to be naughty all night long…”.

We can’t wait.

Hula Unleashed starts from 5pm on Monday 19th July and runs until 3am. Tickets are free and include a welcome drink and queue jump. Guests must be in the venue by 10pm.
