We know it should all be about new year, new you. But we also kind of miss the old us, who loved going out to tuck into a fat juicy burger.

While restaurants are currently closed, many are still offering great takeaway or delivery options across Manchester and beyond.

If you’re craving a burger, here are four to try at home – from a spicy vegan limited edition special to a DIY feast.

The new vegan one

Available for delivery only, Honest Burgers have just launched a brand new plant-based special for January – the Tribute To Jamaica – in collaboration with Jamaican vegan kitchen, Dee’s Table.

The burger combines a plant-based patty with Dee’s Table’s apricot and scotch bonnet ketchup, THIS Isn’t bacon, vegan smoked gouda, plantain fritters, Jamaican curry ‘mayo’ and lettuce.

It’s £14.50 and is available for delivery until 1st February. A meat version is also available with beef and bacon.

The DIY one

Original burger pioneers and home-grown Manchester brand Almost Famous now offer the chance to recreate their burgers at home.

The Famous at Home DIY kits are as fun as opening a present, and include everything you need to make your own filthy feast in the comfort of your kitchen – and there’s nationwide delivery available, too.

The next drop is this Friday 15th January at midday. Set your alarm to snag one.

The Indian street food one

Check out Deliveroo for Bundobust’s ultimate Indian veggie burger, priced at £6.50.

The addictive creation consists of crisp golden deep-fried mashed potato ball in a bun, served with red and green chutneys and fried green chilli.

There’s also a vegan version available on request.

The Michelin starred one

Launching this week, Michelin starred Ancoats restaurant Mana is now offering top quality burgers for takeaway.

Priced at £16, their cheese burger is made using Lake District Farmers’ Belted Galloway smoked beef patty comprised of shin, brisket, and rump cap.

Their American-style cheese is made with St Andrew’s Cheddar and local Cloudwater beer, and the potato and brown butter bun will also be filled with Koji and dill mayonnaise, iceberg, and green onion paste.

You need to book a slot, and numbers are limited to 100 burgers per day, Wednesday to Saturday to collect between 12pm and 4pm. All NHS staff will be entitled to one free burger per order on every Wednesday, you will just need to bring your NHS ID with you on collection.
