This summer, Manchester’s Great Northern is launching its first ever outdoor community kitchen and dining space, with weekly takeovers from different local restaurants.

Launching this week, the pop-up restaurant on the square will provide a Covid-secure space for local businesses that are restricted with limited outdoor dining space.

Weekly four day takeovers will allow these restaurants to serve up their delicious cuisine, al fresco style, right in the heart of the city.

With a jam-packed schedule already, you can expect to see tapas from Evuna, Italian delights from Salvi’s, plus South Manny Flavaz courtesy of Impossible, throughout August.

Evuna will be the first restaurant taking over the square for two weeks from Thursday 6th August from 5pm, and will return for the second week from Thursday 13th – Sunday 16th August.

All diners will experience table service to reduce close contact and ensure social distancing to kept at all times.

And who doesn’t love an ice cold beer in the sun? The pop-up restaurant will also include its very own Estrella Damm bar, for diners who want to accompany their food with a beer or two.

“Housing so many brilliant bars and restaurants here at the Great Northern we really want to do what we can to help the hospitality business get back on its feet,” said centre director Mark Schofield.

“A lot of restaurants don’t have the luxury of outdoor seating, so we’ve created an outdoor dining space that can hold 50 diners in the heart of the Manchester.”

The new dining experience will launch with Evuna, from 5pm on Thursday 6th August. No need to book, simply pop down and enjoy some tasty tapas outdoors with your household.
