Great news for weary shoppers in need of a Greggs steak bake or vegan sausage roll at the intu Trafford Centre.

For the bakery giant is to open its first Greggs store inside the huge shopping mall on Tuesday.

Manchester shoppers have long questioned why such an established name as Greggs has not had an outpost at the centre.  But that is about to be remedied with the new bumper-sized store on the lower Regent Crescent section of the mall, opposite Next.

The new shop was getting the finishing touches on Monday before a grand opening on Tuesday morning, but it WILL feature a seating area where punters can eat their pastry and baked goods in store, as well as the usual takeaway option.

Inside pastry fans can expect the usual array of Greggs treats, like the ever popular steak bake, sausage rolls (and their new vegan cousin), pizza slices and fresh-baked cakes and cookies, as well as the usual range of sandwiches, baguettes and cold drinks.

The store launch has created 21 new jobs in the busy shopping centre.

And the good news for Greggs fans is that the bakery will be open pretty much all day and into the evening catering for the early birds as well as all those late night shoppers.

Opening hours, as of Tuesday 30th July, are 8am to 10pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm on Saturdays and 9.30am to 6pm on Sundays.

The new opening comes just in time for the busy summer holidays season at the shopping centre, where there a raft of special events and pop-ups to entertain families and shoppers around the mall.

That includes a pop-up beach and gin summer garden located outside of the Great Hall at the mall.
