If you’re counting down to the big events of the next bank holiday, you can stop ticking the days off your calendar right now.

Because a brand new underground music venue is opening in town this very weekend with the launch consisting of an all-day music and street food fiesta.

Until now, The Brickworks has only ever been used for corporate functions for the likes of Just Eat, Reebok and Red Bull.

But on Saturday 11th May, Beats & Eats are taking over the tunnels below the beautiful Victorian Barton Arcade and serving up a solid ten hours of thumping tunes and mouth-watering grub for the party-going people of Manchester.

The clandestine location will be hosting a whopping 17 live bands and DJs across two stages from 2pm until midnight.

Liverpudlian indie rockers Circa Waves (above) – fresh off the back of their sell-out show at O2 Victoria Warehouse in April – are booked in for the headline slot, with popular electronic pop quartet China Lane performing an exclusive live set.

DJ Hattie Pearson (Hits Radio/ Radio X) will be spinning tracks during the afternoon, with New Luna, Megan Dixon Hood, Pollen, Subjects, Half Cut, Babylon and Juvenile Child treating punters to a medley of performances throughout the day.

You can tuck into American-style snacks from vendors like Big Grillie Style – who will be whipping up a wide selection of towering burgers for downtime from the dancefloor.

Once you’ve polished that off, event sponsors Camden Town Brewery will be on hand with freshly-poured pints –  just the thing you need to wash down the nosh before a second round of raving.

Main Stage: Circa Waves (DJ set) // China Lane // DJ Hattie Pearson // New Luna // Megan Dixon Hood // Pollen // Subjects // Half Cut // Babylon // Juvenile Child // Canter Semper: Beats Stage: Midnight Mass B2B House Martin // DJ Stu // Cut & Paste // Jack Farrington // Rob Hemingway // Isco // Unkle Ben // Connor McManus

Earlybirds for Beats & Eats have already flown off the shelves, but there are still standard priced tickets available online right now.

See you below the Arcade.
