The IMAX screen at VUE is already the second biggest in Europe. Now, the cinema in Manchester Printworks has upgraded its IMAX screen to accommodate the latest laser vision technology.

The 20 metre long screen, which weighed a huge 170 stone, took fifteen people to carry to the site, and was fitted on Wednesday 14th November.

It will be one of just a few venues in the world to boast the brand new cinematic innovative technology, which uses laser projection to deliver brighter resolution images, complete with an enhanced audio system.

Cinema-goers can expect an increasingly sharp image, with brighter contrast and more vivid colours to enhance the viewing experience.

“We’re extremely proud to be the only cinema in the region with this technology,” said Ian Harris, general manager at Vue Manchester Printworks.

“The investment represents our commitment to providing the people of Manchester with the highest quality big screen entertainment, and with so many not-to-be-missed films and events coming to our screens in the coming months, we can’t wait for our customers to come and enjoy it with us!”

The IMAX with laser auditorium will reopen on Friday 16th November, in time for the second instalment in Harry Potter prequel series: Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
