Manchester Fashion Week gives fashion followers the chance to see the hottest looks of the upcoming season ahead of their release to boutiques up and down the country.

The bi-annual event has been gathering pace since being taken over by fashion PR expert, Amanda Moss. Coming in with lots of experience having previously run Liverpool fashion week, Amanda is helping local fashion designers to springboard their careers.

Under her guidance, fashion designers have been picked up by the likes of Roberto Cavalli and been invited to appear at Milan and New York fashion weeks – with one designer even going on to win the best newcomer category in New York.

“Manchester is a hive of fashionable talent,” she told us. “Historically, we own northern fashion with our rich industry of textiles and design over the years.

A sell-out every year, Manchester Fashion Week strips away the traditional snobbery of fashion shows. It’s inclusive and welcoming to all because Amanda believes fashion is for everyone and should make you feel good about yourself.

“Everyone wants to look and feel great. When you come to our shows you will find something that fits your style. Our shows are non-intimidating and we strip away the snobbery of fashion so that you can enjoy yourself. After all, fashion should be fun,” she told us.

Amanda has turned Manchester Fashion Week on its head, banning the scouse brow and making it the first show to introduce plus size, disabled, trans and child models to the commercial catwalk.

“The reason that it is so popular is that Manchester Fashion Week encourages a positive body image, all our models are given a workshop in self-esteem, working with a photographer and loving themselves first. We use models of all sizes showing that fashion is for everyone, regardless of size, shape or age.”

The event will be attended by model and fashion scouts, high street buyers, boutique traders and Mancunian fashion lovers.

Local designers and those from further afield including Boston, Ireland and India, will be showcasing their latest collections in front of an audience of buyers, fashion bloggers and fashionistas.

Promising a night of glamour, excitement and anticipation, the show will consist of a minimum of eight designers, with musical entertainment provided by local artists.

The show takes place at Victoria Warehouse on Monday 12th November, 2018. Tickets are £15 and on sale now.
