The newest and chicest trend yet? Well it’s not really new…

We’ve seen the 80’s make a splash with shiny leggings, scrunchies, and just about every item of clothing in a painfully bright fluorescent shade. The 90’s have most recently returned with crop tops, denim, plaid oversized shirts and yes, the tattoo choker… Remember the one the Charmed sisters always wore…?

Well spring has finally returned and so have the Seventies. A-line skirts, mega flares, skimpy hemlines, lots of crochet and patchwork and our favourites; suede, leather and fringe! This season, get your groove on and embrace the 70’s retro revival.

From the top. Feather and flick like Farrah Fawcett.

70Fashion1

With her blonde ‘feathered’ hair, golden tan and beautiful smile, Farrah Fawcett was and still is considered the most influential fashion icon of the 1970’s. Her hairstyle, originally created by stylist Allen Edwards, became known as ‘The Farrah’ as it was copied by millions of women all over the world.

Hide from the British sun in super trendy shades.

70Fashion2

Big, bold and beautiful shades are in this season. Tortoise shell and bright and funky coloured frames with yellow, rose and plum lenses are back and bigger than ever.

Express yourself in bold colours and prints.

70Fashion3

The 70’s were all about expressing yourself. Do this by mixing and matching vibrant prints and bright colours.

Ditch the skinnies and add some flare.

70Fashion4

From snug fitting flares to extreme bell-bottoms, say goodbye to anything that resembles ‘skinny’ and rock the ultimate seventies silhouette. Stay cool with denim or go crazy with graphic prints and bright florals.

All about the fringe.

70Fashion5

Whether your looking for a subtle hint of the 70’s or a full fringe frock, the time is now. Grab a pair of moccasin boots for a cool native-american inspired look or go ultra cool with a suede fringed jacket.

Find your inner hippy.

70Fashion6

Indulge in the hippy-chic trends of the seventies with simple cuts falling just above the knee and accessories that capture the 70’s culture. Make fashion, not war.
