Beauty queens are crowned at glitzy glamour show revival

Miss Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire were crowned last weekend in a revived Miss Manchester event

A dazzling affair unfolded last weekend as the spotlight returned to one of Manchester’s most anticipated events.

Against the glitz and glamour of influencer hotspot Vermilion, the city witnessed the triumphant revival, rebranding, and crowning of Miss Manchester.

The sell-out event had 500 attendees with people queuing out the door and the venue calling in extra staff for the unprecedented demand.

Miss Manchester 2024

The event is under the new directorship of celebrity makeup artist and influencer Sean Maloney who co-hosted the event with reality TV star Sofia Myers. She described it as “a dream come true”.

20 contestants took to the stage to compete for the titles of Miss Manchester, Miss Lancashire and Miss Cheshire.

The long awaited re-brand and re-birth brought Manchester brands such as Iso Clean, Koko Couture, Bbare Cosmetics, McAesthetics together for the ultimate show.

Highlighting the evening’s splendour was a captivating performance by the female-led Manchester-based dance ensemble, Queens In Kicks.

Also present were notable TV personalities, including stars from Married At First Sight UK and Love Island, adding to the spectacle.

Electric atmosphere

A spokesperson for Vermillion commented on the ‘electric atmosphere’ at Miss Manchester 2024 and said: “This has been one of our favourite events we have ever hosted and we can’t wait to have Sean and his team back next year”.

They will all now be heading to the Miss England semi-final in Blackpool on 7th April.

When asked about how she felt about winning Miss Manchester 2024 Vanessa said: “Ecstatic!

“I put my heart and soul into preparations and in a way winning is getting the recognition of that work that is put in.

“But I am also humbled to know that I have been trusted with such a responsibility to inspire young girls in my city and I cannot wait to represent my city to the best of my ability at Miss England in May.”

What does Miss Manchester win?

The three winners took home a range of prizes from sponsors including a £200 voucher from Red Carpet Ready & McAesthetics, £400 worth of personal training and fitness plans from The Real Fitness Group.

The new Miss Manchester, Miss Lancashire & Miss Cheshire will head to the Miss England finals at Grand Station Birmingham on 16th & 17th May 2024 for their chance to compete to win the title of Miss England 2024 and represent their country at the prestigious Miss World competition.
