Royal Nawaab, the renowned award-winning restaurant chain, has officially confirmed its ambitious plan to transform the iconic Stockport Pyramid into a curry house.

This revelation comes after months of speculation and discussions with the building’s owners, and it marks a significant development for the striking blue pyramid structure that has sat dormant for over half a decade.

Royal Nawaab at the Stockport Pyramid

Royal Nawaab unveiled its vision earlier this year, expressing a desire to convert the expansive 4.5-acre site into a Indian restaurant and banqueting hall.

The company, known for its excellence in cuisine and hospitality, had previously overseen the Nawaab restaurant and banqueting hall on Stockport Road in Levenshulme until it changed ownership earlier this year.

Now, Royal Nawaab is poised to breathe new life into the Stockport Pyramid, bringing a culinary experience like no other to the region.

The Countdown to Summer 2024

Excitement has been building, and Royal Nawaab has confirmed its plans to open the restaurant in the summer of 2024, pending necessary planning approvals.

In a recent Instagram post, the restaurant chain announced, “Unveiling the Grandeur: New Royal Nawaab Manchester Opening Summer 2024.”

The post also featured a captivating video of the Stockport Pyramid, rekindling the city’s fond memories of this iconic structure.

The announcement has elicited an immediate wave of enthusiasm among eager diners and local residents.

A Promising Transformation

The prospects for this transformation are nothing short of remarkable.

The Stockport Pyramid, previously comprising 86,000 square feet of office space spread over five floors, now stands ready to become a huge culinary destination.

Many are already speculating about the site’s potential, with ideas ranging from a dessert bar or café to complement the buffet options to the possibility of hosting grand wedding ceremonies.

Enhanced Culinary Offerings

The Royal Nawaab in London also offers weddings

One question that naturally arises is whether the new restaurant will retain the same menu as Royal Nawaab’s other locations.

The answer is an exciting one: Royal Nawaab promises a “bigger and better menu.”

This expansion in offerings is sure to delight food enthusiasts and curry connoisseurs alike.

A Glimpse into the Past

The Stockport Pyramid holds a special place in Manchester’s architectural history.

Constructed in 1992 as part of an ambitious plan to create Manchester’s own ‘Valley of Kings’ along the River Mersey, it was envisioned as one of five pyramids.

However, it stands as the sole testament to this vision. T

he Co-op subsequently utilised the premises as a call centre from 1995 until their relocation to the NONA development in Manchester city centre in 2018.

As the countdown to the grand opening in the summer of 2024 continues, Stockport and Greater Manchester eagerly await the transformation of this iconic structure into a Royal Nawaab Curry House.

Stay tuned for updates!
