Backyard Cinema extends run into late January after huge success

After a hugely successful ten week run, Backyard Cinema are set to extend their Manchester run until late January

Backyard cinema has entertained thousands of visitors since it opened in October.

With the Christmas programme running until Monday 2nd January, the rest of the month will shift the programming with new releases from 2022, including Disney’s Strange WorldBlack Panther: Wakanda ForeverAvatar: The Way of Water, and Matilda the Musical and more.

Further all-time classics and favourites will also be screened to beat those January blues with feel-good films, including Moulin Rouge! (2001)Back to the Future (1985)The Greatest Showman (2017)Beauty and the Beast (2017)The Goonies (1985) and Pretty Woman (1990).

With its magical transformation up on the roof of Depot Mayfield, visitors will have their last chance to visit The Lost Theatre during this extended run in January.

Audiences can expect to be transported through a magical portal to a cinema like no other.

You can explore movie-grade sets, through tunnels of trees and magical where punters have to make their own choices to eventually find the Lost Theatre.

For those feeling peckish before their movie starts, guests can make their way to The Waiting Room’s Pizza & Pint House first.

The pizza menu includes a classic The Godfather with mozzarella and basil; a dangerous Texas Chainsaw Massacre with chicken, ham, mozzarella, BBQ sauce, red onion and green pepper; a meatful Babe: Pig in the City with sausage, ham and mozzarella; and more.

Plus, seasonal cocktails, mulled wine, boozy hot chocolate and drinks on taps available.

Dominic Davies, Founder and CEO of Backyard Cinema, said: “We have loved taking our alternative cinema experience to Manchester for our very first project outside of London, and the team have been overwhelmed by the incredible turnout and rave reviews we received.

“And we now look forward to extending our Manchester run for the last chance to experience The Lost Theatre.”

Christmas showings at Backyard Cinema Manchester are available every Monday to Sunday until 2nd January 2023. Closed on Boxing Day, Christmas Bank Holiday, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Multiple showing times vary each day from 12:00, 16:00, 20:00 and some midnight showings at 00:00.

Extended run in January will run every Wednesday to Sunday until 25th January 2023.

Multiple showing times vary each day from 12:00, 16:00 and 20:00. Exclusive for January deals, from 4th January 2023, Backyard Cinema Manchester is offering 50% off for showings on Mondays to Thursdays throughout the month. Whilst Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows are priced at off-peak prices, reduced from December’s Christmas film prices.
