Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance has leapt its way onto the Palace Theatre stage.

The toe tapping Irish dancing troupe is ready to wow the audience again with a new show, celebrating 25 years of Lord of the Dance.

An all-round Irish extravaganza, this show has everything. Beautiful singing, perfect dancing, classic storytelling, and even a bedazzled penny whistle.

Some of the dancers in the show were not even born when Michael Flately first opened Lord of the Dance.

However, with years of training behind them, leads Matt Smith and Lauren Clarke do not put a foot wrong in the classic battle of good vs evil alongside the dark Lord, played by Zoltan Papp.

The show begins with a history of Michael Flately and his world famous shows. It then follows the Little Sprite along her journey, fighting off warriors and inspiring a group of dancers with her magic penny whistle.

The costume department goes all out, with every dancer being sequin studded from head to toe.

Even the warriors, in their leather pants and armour, have a sprinkle of glitter on them.

When the male dancers on the Lord’s side rip their shirts off, they reveal sparkly tattoo sleeves.

And all the dancing is interjected with singing, fiddlers and an ever-changing backdrop.

Lord of the Dance, with 25 years of standing ovations, really does live up to its name.

The whole theatre were on their feet during the final number, being invited to clap and cheer along with the classic routines.

Running at the Palace Theatre until the 17th of July, Michael Flately’s sparkle filled show is not to be missed.
