The Ivy

Famed London celebrity haunt The Ivy has finally confirmed the launch date for its first Manchester restaurant.

The building works to create The Ivy at Spinningfields have been ongoing for some time, with the spectacular ivy-clad four-storey pavilion now nearing completion ready for its 27th November opening.

Bosses announced the official opening date, and that reservation lines are now open, with the arrival of a spectacular ivy-clad bus doing a tour of the city centre on Monday morning.

And the restaurant is going to be even bigger than originally expected – with bosses saying it will be the largest restaurant to open in the UK this year with a huge 535 covers spread over four unique floors.

It will make it one of Manchester’s biggest restaurants when it opens to the public on Tuesday 27th November, just in time for the festive run-in.

The restaurant will feature a ground floor brasserie, first floor private dining room, and opulent Asian bar and restaurant on the second floor. The top floor will feature what is being billed as “Manchester’s first roof garden” featuring fire pits and lush foliage, with a retractable roof to allow year-round dining.

How the roof garden will look at The Ivy

The ground floor Ivy brasserie will be open all day, seven days a week, serving modern British classics to suit all occasions. All-encompassing menus will feature a variety of dishes including truffled orzo pasta, lobster linguine and slow-cooked lamb shoulder.

On the first floor, The Dalton Room will be available for those seeking a more exclusive experience, accommodating parties of up to twenty seated guests. The private room will be available to book seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as standing receptions. With its floor to ceiling glass walls, guests will be able to enjoy natural lighting and views across Spinningfields.

The second floor of The Ivy Spinningfields will be the first ever “The Ivy Asian” – a glamorous bar and restaurant, serving Asian-inspired cocktails alongside dishes such as Wagyu beef with truffle sauce, salmon fillet teriyaki, and avocado, crispy tofu, lime and ginger dressing.

The entire floor will be illuminated with a show-stopping green, semi-precious stone floor, set against a striking antique gold mirrored bar, gold-gilt ceiling and luxurious Asian fabrics.

The Geisha Room, a stunning private room with bespoke mirrored artwork, will also be available to hire privately.

Once open, the restaurant will also host guest DJs, events and entertainment on each of its four floors. Reservations can be made for all floors, but bosses say walk-ins will be welcomed for Ivy brasserie, “The Ivy Asian” or Roof Garden.  A launch party for the venue is set to be held on Wednesday 21st November, ahead of the official opening.

The restaurant’s General Manager will be Kate Cooper, whilst additional senior members of the team will include Steve Scoullar as Senior Head Chef, Jason Annette as Head Chef and Luke Mason as Bar Manager.

“We are incredibly excited to bring The Ivy Collection to Manchester this winter,” said Baton Berisha from The Ivy Collection.

“Situated within the heart of Spinningfields, Manchester’s luxury dining and shopping quarter, we can’t wait to showcase our different floors, dining concepts and offerings. There will be something for everyone and we hope to bring something new to the city.”

The Ivy Spinningfields opens on 27th November. Reservations can be made on 0161 503 3222 or by clicking the button below.
