The Color Run back in Manchester for the fifth time this summer – and this year it’s getting dreamy. Dubbed The Happiest 5k on the Planet, the idea is simple. Dress in white, run 5km with your friends, family or colleagues and finish the day head-to-toe in kaleidoscopic colour, having a lot of fun along the way.

Participants begin the run wearing a Color Run t-shirt and are dusted with coloured powder by volunteers at each kilometre mark along the route.

The fun doesn’t stop there because beyond the finish line at the Finish Festival runners can enjoy the ultimate colour extravaganza combined with DJ’s, MC’s and giveaways as they party with friends and family amidst vibrant bursts of Color Throws.

The run is not timed and people of all ages who can run, jog or walk their way through the course are welcome.

This year’s participants will take the first step towards making their dreams a reality as they cross the start line and enter a magical world. Prepare for a brand new Cloud Foam Zone, unicorn mascots and a variety of new colours throughout the route.

The colour used at the events is made from 100% natural food grade cornstarch which causes no harm to skin or the environment and meets required EU standards.

Color Run founder Travis Snyder was inspired by the Indian Holi Festival and decided to combine the idea with a 5km running experience. From the first event in the Unites States in January 2012 The Color Run has since spread across the globe leaving a trail of colour and happy runners.

This year’s Manchester Color Run will be taking place on Saturday 1st July. Tickets are now on sale here. For information on how to sign up visit www.thecolorrun.co.uk.
