We sat down with Zouk’s owner, Tayub Amjad who told us why he had set up the dinner.

He said: “We’re all in a truly fortunate position to wake up every day without fear that it might be our last.

“As the weeks have gone by watching the news coming out of Gaza is truly heartbreaking, we’re hoping for a strong turn-out on the night to support this event and help us raise as much money for Gaza as possible.”

Zouk’s charity work

Zouk have previously worked with Two Brews

Zouk is well known in the city for its amazing charity work, partnering up with Two Brews to help feed the homeless.

They have also previously held events to raise funds for Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Zahid, from Halal Dining Manchester, said: “Over the past eight months we’ve witnessed things from behind our screens that we never could have imagined, and this is the reality of our Palestinian brothers and sisters every single day.

“Whilst we feel helpless, we want to be doing everything we can to go some way in supporting them and hope this event can do just that.

Further entertainment will be confirmed closer to the event and will be shared on Zouk’s social channels. You can check out their Instagram here

Tickets for the event are £35 per person and can be booked through Zouk’s website by clicking here

What will the money raised be used for?

Human Aid And Advoacy are delivering vital humanitarian aid in Palestine where it matters most.

We spoke to Abdul Wahid from Human Aid and Advocacy about how the funds raised will be used.

He said:  “You cannot comprehend how empowering your support is for them, knowing someone donated to feed them or shelter them or even give them a pair of good shoes!

“After Allah, it is the support of the Ummah that drives them on and through these horrific times of sheer oppression where the entire world is guilty of neglecting their humane obligations.”

Human Aid & Advocacy in Palestine

Human Aid & Advocacy are currently delivering Humanitarian Aid in Gaza in the form of food packs, hot meals, water, hygiene kits and cash for families to purchase essential supplies.
