Kyle Clow Your Head in Mind

In today’s fast-paced world, finding spaces where mental health is openly discussed and supported can feel like a rare thing.

But Kyle Clow, a passionate mental health advocate from the North West, is determined to change that.

Through his new platform, Your Head In Mind, Kyle has created a space where mental health awareness, personal stories, and science-backed resources come together to forge meaningful conversations.

And now, he’s bringing this vision to life with an exciting free event at the Derby Brewers Arm (D.B.A.) in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, on Sunday, 3rd November.

Your Head In Mind

The event, running from 2 pm to 9 pm, is set to be an exciting celebration that combines the power of dance music with the importance of mental health awareness.

It’s more than just a party though – this is a safe and inclusive space for the Manchester community to come together, have fun, and engage in honest conversations about mental health.

With a lineup of DJ sets, a Gratitude/Art Wall, and local food vendors, this event aims to bridge the gap between music, movement, and mental wellness.

How was Your Head In Mind created?

For Kyle, the journey to creating Your Head In Mind has been deeply personal. After struggling with mental health issues and experiencing a psychotic episode earlier this year, he realised how inadequate the available support systems can be.

“I ended up in the hospital, and while I was lucky to come out of it okay, many people aren’t as fortunate,” Kyle explained.

“That experience made me want to do something to help others.”

Kyle saw a gap in the mental health conversation, particularly within social media and youth culture, where people often turn to escapism through unhealthy habits.

“When you look at social media, anyone can post anything, which often blurs the line between facts and opinions.

“I wanted to create a platform with validated, professional content that people could rely on,” Kyle said.

The launch event at the D.B.A. reflects this ethos perfectly. “We want people to enjoy themselves, but also to be aware that mental health is something to care about.

“Dancing has been shown to have a positive impact on mental health, and we’re combining that with open discussions, resources, and support.”

Practical tools to manage your mental health

Kyle’s idea isn’t just about raising awareness—it’s about giving people practical tools to navigate their mental health.

During the event, attendees will receive wristbands with mental health questions, tips on recognising when someone might be struggling, and a leaflet filled with actionable advice.

There will be plenty of opportunities to connect, whether through dancing, sharing on the Gratitude Wall, or simply enjoying the atmosphere.

A unique aspect of the event is Kyle’s focus on reducing harm, especially within rave and club culture.

“There’s always talk about harm reduction when it comes events, but no one really talks about mental health in that context.

“If you’re not feeling right, going to a club and getting out of your head isn’t going to help—it’s probably going to make things worse. I want to highlight that,” Kyle said.

This event isn’t just the start of something exciting—it’s also deeply rooted in the local community.

Kyle is working with local DJs, many of whom were close to people who tragically took their own lives.

“It felt right to have them involved. We wanted to create a positive and safe environment where people can enjoy the music but also feel supported.”

Looking ahead, Kyle has big plans for Your Head In Mind, including a podcast.

Your Head in Mind Podcast

He’s already recorded nine podcast episodes featuring guests ranging from a NASA sleep scientist to nutritionists, addiction counsellors, and DJs, all discussing various aspects of mental health.

“It’s all about offering different perspectives and exploring how mental health impacts every part of our lives. I’m hoping to work with more venues and DJs in the future to create more of these inclusive spaces,” he shared.

This launch event is just the beginning, and Kyle is eager to see where it leads.

“If this event goes well, I’d love to integrate more mental health practices into the club scene and create more opportunities for people to come together, express themselves, and feel supported.”

For now, the Manchester community has a unique opportunity to be part of something special—an event where music, mental health, and community come together in harmony.

So, mark your calendars for Sunday, 3rd November, and join Kyle and the Your Head In Mind team at the D.B.A. for a day of great music, important conversations, and a chance to be part of a positive movement.
