It’s nice to have some positive news about a local pub. Following a £179,000 investment, Manchester-based pub The Levenshulme has re-opened. As well as a brighter interior with new flooring and carpets, the pub’s outdoor seating area has been upgraded to include a new decking area and astro turf for guests to enjoy the last of the summer sun. Externally the front of the local has been given a spruce up with a repaint to give it a revitalised feel.
The Levenshulme pub is a great local venue for watching live sport with seven TVs throughout all areas of the pub showing BT Sport and Sky Sports – just in time for the start of the new football season. The venue’s darts area has also been freshly updated with the addition of an illuminated dartboard. This and the new pool table area has created the perfect opportunity for a little competition between friends.
The Levenshulme is a dog friendly pub surrounded by the residential homes, independent businesses and antique shops on Stockport Road. It’s open every day from 11am and the bar stocks quality beers, wines and spirits with well-known local, national and international names. The drinks menu also features a good choice of low and no-alcohol drinks too.
The revamped pub will also be hosting a range of entertainment nights including its Tuesday night darts team, a weekly Karaoke Night every Friday hosted by DJ Tony Grimes, along with Saturday night live music nights planned over the coming months.
The Levenshulme is operated by Bianca Henderson alongside her husband Jack. Bianca began her hospitality career in another local bar doing casual work, and loved it. When her parents opened The Queen Vic pub in Denton she worked there on weekends before running the Pitstop. Bianca then decided she wanted the opportunity to run a pub for herself and is keen to make sure that all her customers enjoy a great experience at The Levenshulme.
“Overseeing the refurbishment to this popular pub has been amazing, as soon as we reopened the doors all of our guests loved the new look,” says Bianca. “The investment has come at the perfect time with the new football season kicking off and has seen us rushed off our feet. It’s important for me that the locals who visit the pub feel a warm welcome at The Levenshulme, and I think this refurbishment will do a great job of making people feel at home here with us. If you haven’t already, I’d love to see you down at the pub to see all the fantastic changes we’ve made here.”
The Levenshulme, Manchester is part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, who were named the Best Community Operator at the 2022 Publican Awards.
